Based in Lancaster County, PA since 1978, all engineering disciplines are in-house to perform total design of new facilities, facility renovations and expansions, master planning services, and remedial design, with a core focus on providing BIM (Building Information Modeling) solutions in a team environment. Position Summary:

This position has the primary responsibility to design and develop plans, elevations, schedules and details for the construction of processing and storage facilities for the food and beverage industry. Also to conduct / coordinate detailed phases of architectural work for assigned projects; perform work which involves conventional practices but may include a variety of complex features. The work requires a broad knowledge of architecture which can be applied to food processing and storage facilities.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be an effective communicator with client, design team, and contractors in resolving and maintaining project direction.
  • Capable of space programming, development of floor plans, sections and elevations, egress evaluations, and code review based on general guidance from senior staff.
  • Capable of preparing clear and complete plan and detail drawings based on general guidance from senior staff on the latest version of Revit.
  • Ensure client requirements are provided in design.
  • Support project team to maintain schedules and budget.
  • Conducts site surveys to determine conformance with design intent during construction.
  • Evaluate existing conditions when applicable.
  • Respond to field questions and interpret drawings and specification conflicts; evaluate contractor alternates during bidding and construction.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree at a minimum.
  • A bachelor’s degree in architecture or architectural engineering is preferred.
  • Possess Five (5-10) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Basic/essential level proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (latest version preferred)
  • Must be experienced in working with Windows programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel as well as discipline specific programs.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Having an architectural license or in the process of taking the ARE is a plus.

Work Environment / Location:

  • The position will involve working in our Lititz, PA office.
  • The position will also require travel to client job sites.
  • Hybrid working hours are possible after a time period of evaluations and training.

Travel:   Our firm provides services throughout the United States and occasionally other countries. Occasional travel (initial site investigations, construction observations, etc.) will be required depending on project scope.

  • Possess Five (5) years, or more, of mechanical and/or refrigeration engineering experience.

  • Must be experienced in working with Windows programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel as well as discipline specific programs.

Job Title: Structural Design Specialist / Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

Plans, conducts, and coordinates the various phases of structural engineering work for assigned projects. Performs work which involves conventional structural engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features. Work requires a broad knowledge of concrete, steel, and masonry design, and a good working knowledge of food processing and food distribution facilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Must be an effective communicator with client, design team, and contractors in resolving and maintaining project
  • Works independently and is technically capable of providing detailed structural calculations and specifications.
  • Evaluates and recommends most design philosophies for project and determines engineering systems to be provided to meet the project program and client needs.
  • Develop structural analyses with RISA, RAM and/or similar structural design software.
  • Can clearly outline design alternatives and provide summary of associated benefits/concerns.
  • Works with other engineers and designers that may be assigned to the project team within the same
  • Researches and applies code requirements in design including all necessary contacts with the appropriate local officials to ensure proper code

  • Support preparation of drawings and sketches based on design direction from senior staff.
  • Communicate and coordinate project work with other engineering disciplines.
  • Review and reply to shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs
  • Potentially accompany senior staff on site visits to assist with observations of existing conditions or verify adherence to electrical design.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 to 4 years in an Architectural (Electrical Option) or Electrical Engineering Major

We are seeking process designers to join our team.  The successful candidate shall possess an Associates or a BS degree in Mechanical or Biological Engineering.  Experience with designing / engineering food processing operations would be a plus.
